Nithia Govender

Kia ora, te whānau
I am Nithia Govender. I am the Team Leader of Team Takahē. I am the class teacher of room 3, a year 5/6 class. I have been teaching at Mangere East School for 23 years. I enjoy teaching Maths, Science and Technology. I am a keen sportsman and enjoy coaching our students in the different codes of sports.

Nisha Hanif

My name is Nisha Hanif and I have the privilege of being part of Mangere East Primary school since 2002. I have mostly taught in junior classes from year 1-3 Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your children with a solid foundation, nurture them with love and care so they develop the skills for a lifelong learning. I am looking forward to continue  making a positive impact on all my student’s growth and life. The impact I make on their lives ,makes even greater and completely gratifying  impact in my own life. There is always lots of fun, joy and something new to learn in this rewarding profession. I was born and brought up in beautiful Fiji Islands. I came to New Zealand 20 years ago and studied at Auckland Collage of Education for my Bachelor of education in teaching. In my family we have three sons and two cute grand-children, who keep me busy on the weekends. It is such a pleasure to work in such a wonderful place and love to be part of this welcoming community.

My name is Lyn White (aka Miss Ma) I have lived and worked in South Auckland for most of my life and taught at MEPS for many years. I love the diversity of our school, community, my colleagues and our tamariki.
I am a team member of the Takahe team and currently teach Years 2 & 3 classes.

Monica Henry

Kia Orana-Malo E Lelei, My name is Monica, Taeve, Foliaki Henry. My father is of Cook Island, Niuean-American Samoan & German descent. My mother is of Tongan & Samoan descent. I am very proud of my diverse cultures. It's very important to know & understand where you come from in society.
I was also honored & blessed to receive my Samoan Matai-Chief name Tamausu-from my Samoan Great Grandmother from Matatufu, Lotofaga. I'm from a family of 16 & I'm the 5th youngest. I did all of my formal education in Mangere. I was the first person to graduate from my family from the University of Auckland with my Bachelor of Education & Diploma in Primary Teaching in 1999. I have a strong passion with Sport. I'm also a Kids Boxing Personal Trainer at Kings Academy. I've taught for 22 years in Mangere, Clendon, Papatoetoe, Waitakere & Georgia, United States of America. I'm very blessed to have taught in South Auckland schools where I have been able to give back to my own community & diverse cultures. In conclusion, I am honored & blessed to be working at MEPS. I like the friendly students & staff that make my job more enjoyable. I love my new position of doing my job share position with Ange Pilkington in Room 25 for 2020. There are so many benefits of having 2 teachers in one classroom. We are really passionate about working together & catering for the different learning styles & learning needs in Room 25 at Mangere East Primary School.
