Enrolment Information: Joining Our Whānau

We look forward to welcoming your child to Māngere East Primary School. To make the enrolment process as quick and easy as possible, please follow the steps below.

1. Check Your Zone

Māngere East Primary School operates an enrolment scheme. Please check the Ministry of Education Zone Finder  or contact our school office to confirm that you live within our school's home zone.

2. Complete the Enrolment Form

You can complete our enrolment form online.

3. What to Bring to the Office

Once your form is filled out, please visit our friendly office team and bring along the following required documentation:

• Child’s Birth Certificate or Passport

• Proof of Address (e.g., a recent utility bill or tenancy agreement)

• Information regarding any relevant Health or Medical Concerns

4. Next Steps: The Enrolment Interview

Once your paperwork is processed, our receptionist will contact you to arrange a time for an enrolment interview. You and your child will meet with our Assistant Principal, Sela Afungia, or our Learning Support Coordinator, Charmainne Tolich, to officially start our home-school partnership and help you get settled into school life.

🎉 Once Your Child is Accepted: Getting Ready for Day One!

Welcome to the MEPS Whānau! Once your enrolment has been officially accepted, here is everything you need to know to get your child ready for their first day:

• School Uniforms: You can purchase the official school uniform directly from NZ Uniforms in Manukau, or shop online anytime at NZUniforms.com.

• Stationery is Provided: Good news! You do not need to buy any stationery. We provide all required school stationery to our students completely free of charge.

• Footwear Policy: Correct school footwear is a must every day. Students need to wear either black shoes or roman sandals. Please note that Crocs are not permitted.

• Jewellery Policy: To keep our tamariki safe, jewellery is not allowed at school. The only exceptions are plain stud earrings or cultural necklaces (such as a taonga).
