Welcome to our parent information hub. Below you will find essential details regarding our school systems, daily requirements, and uniform policies to help set your child up for success at Māngere East School.

⏰ School Daily Timetable

• 8:50 am – First Bell (Students head to class)

• 9:00 am – Learning Begins

• 11:00 am – 11:45 am – Morning Tea Break

• 11:50 am – Learning Resumes

• 1:10 pm – 1:45 pm – Lunch Break

• 1:50 pm – Afternoon Learning Begins

• 3:00 pm – End of School Day

💡 Tip: Please ensure your child arrives before the 8:50 am bell so they have plenty of time to unpack their bags and catch up with their friends before learning starts!

📱 HERO App & Communications

We use HERO as our primary platform for all school communications, notices, and student progress updates. We highly encourage all parents and caregivers to download the app to stay connected with our school community.

• Why use HERO? You will receive instant notifications about school events, emergency notices, newsletters, and direct updates from your child's teacher.

• How to get started: 1. Download the HERO app from the App Store or Google Play Store. 2. Select "Log In" and enter the email address you provided to the school during enrolment. 3. If it is your first time logging in, click "First Time Logging In" to set up your password.

🥪 School Lunches

We are proud to partner with the School Lunch Collective to provide a free, healthy, hot meal for your child to enjoy every school day.

• What to bring: While lunch is provided, please ensure your child brings a drink bottle with water and some snacks for the lunch break.

✏️ Stationery

To take the financial pressure off our families, stationery is provided to all students for free. You do not need to purchase any books, pencils, or classroom supplies for your child—everything they need for their learning is ready for them at school.

👕 School Uniform

All students are expected to wear the correct school uniform daily.

Where to Buy

Our official uniform can be purchased from NZ Uniforms located in Manukau (just off Cavendish Drive).

Uniform Guidelines

• Tops: Students must wear the official school top featuring the Māngere East School logo.

• Bottoms: Students can wear plain black or navy bottoms (shorts, skirts, or trousers).

• Footwear: Students must wear closed black shoes or Roman sandals.

• ❌ Not Allowed: Coloured shoes, bright sneakers, and Crocs are strictly not permitted for safety and uniformity reasons.
