About
The principals of the Māngere schools meet at least once a term to share ideas, discuss issues and plan work that they would like to achieve together. They are committed to providing the best education possible to our students in Māngere. Our current priorities are:
Attendance - that students attend school every day that they are well. Parents/whānau support schools by ensuring their children attend well and let the school know if their children will be absent and the reason for this absence.
Engagement - ensuring students enjoy school and strive to achieve their best.
Transition - to get the message to families that it is very beneficial to enrol 5-year-olds early so they can visit their new class several times before their birthday. We also want to ensure our processes support students to move from one class to the next class smoothly, and from one school to the next smoothly.
Neurodiverse Learners - we recognise that we need to work together to increase our understanding about how we adapt our programmes and expectations for students' who come to school with different ways of learning and who respond to our expectations in different ways. We want to work with the Ministry of Education and other providers to access more support for our schools.
Community Wellbeing - supporting our families to access the variety of services available to them more easily.
