In 2026, this position is based in Rotai’anga, our Cook Islands Bilingual Unit (Years 1–6) and you will teach the Years 3-4 class. You will be well-supported by a team that values strong relationships and a sense of humour, including some Learning Assistant time.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Fluency in both Cook Islands Māori and English.
Culturally responsive pedagogy (Teaching to the North-East): drawing on prior knowledge, high-expectations, formative assessment practices, co-constructing learning and power sharing with students and their whānau.
Strong content knowledge across the curriculum.
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, whānau, and the wider community.
A positive outlook and a genuine love for the profession.
