SUPPORT STAFF - KAIĀWHINA - LEARNING ASSITANTS - VACANCIES

Kaiāwhina - Learning Assistant (Starting in 2025, Term Time Only, Part-Time)
We are looking for a Kaiāwhina / Learning Assistants to join our friendly and hard working team.
Responsibilities:
To be an additional model for children of fluency in their heritage language; to increase the number of interactions they have each day to hear and practise speaking, reading and writing in their heritage language.
Work with students requiring additional support to help them achieve their goals.
Work with individuals and small groups of students requiring additional language and/or learning support by implementing the programme provided by the teacher.
Model the school value of respect to self, others and environment.

Requirements for the role:
Relevant experience and attributes in relation to points 1-4 above.
Fluency in the heritage language - speaking, reading and writing.
Be of good character - acts professionally and has a good work history. A strong record of work attendance and punctuality is essential for the role.

Hours of Work:
Hours are 3-5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.
Pay
The starting pay rate is TBC. Annual leave accrued will be paid as Holiday Pay (8%).
