Only full-time teaching staff at Māngere East Primary School can apply for these positions.  Current WST can reapply.  The position is for 1 year only (2023). 

The WST position is to support the Māngere East teachers to achieve the goals of the Whakatipu Akoranga Kāhui Ako.  This role is also an opportunity for successful applicants to grow their pedagogy and leadership, particularly in terms of coaching others in areas that are likely to improve outcomes for our students.  

In the MEPS context this would be in terms of growing teacher confidence to:

• 'normalise' te reo me ōna tikanga Māori in their planning and classroom delivery;  and / or 

• suppport Student Agency through Formative Assessment practices, your practice  would ideally be in the mid to high Stage 4 range in all of the capabilities in the Teacher Capability Matrix.  

You would also be confident in 'teaching as inquiry' and other strategies/processes to accelerate the academic learning of our students (e.g. Cultural responsiveness, Digital fluency).
