Physical Education (PE) Specialist Teacher (Permanent)
Includes Priority Teacher Supply Allowance (PTSA)
We are looking for an experienced teacher who is passionate about student Hauora/Wellbeing, with a focus on Taha Tinana / Physical Wellbeing. The role offers an exciting opportunity to promote students' love for Physical Activity. The position is to teach the PE curriculum to specific classes each week while their teacher is released for other duties, to train some of our sports teams and to support our coaches with administrative tasks related to events outside of our school.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in inclusive teaching of physical education across Y1 to 8.
Experience using formative assessment strategies to support age-appropriate skill development.
Effective classroom management and communication skills to fully engage students in physical activity.
Ability to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Effective organizational skills to plan and execute lessons, events, and activities.
Passion for promoting physical health and well-being.
Personal Attributes:
Enthusiastic, energetic and motivated to inspire students to enjoy physical activity.
Positive role model for students, demonstrating fair play, respect and teamwork.
Team player, able to work effectively with colleagues.
This is an exciting position for a passionate educator who is keen to keep learning, teaching and growing in a collaborative team environment. Strong relationships, high-quality communication, a love of the profession, a sense of humour and a positive outlook on life are essential. Fluency in te reo Māori or a Pacific language is an advantage.
